John Marty is one of the hardest working and deeply empathic people I know.
I first met John many years ago when I was a single mother with two children, two and three years old. I could only afford a low-income apartment and was not receiving child support. We lived hand to mouth. One day, Senator Marty knocked on my door. I was surprised to see an elected official willing to actually walk miles, knocking on doors to assure he was representing his constituents effectively!
He took the time to listen deeply to my opinions and concerns. It was evident he cared about me and my family. He has strongly represented our interests at the Senate all these years. The last time I saw him (at our local Target) , he spent several minutes sharing with me how universal health care is so important to Minnesota.
He cares. And he is an activist.
No wonder he is so good at winning elections!
